Petition for a statue of Snowy Farr in Cambridge
Snowy Farr OBE (b.1920; d. Oakington, Cambs, 8 March 2007 was a prominent and colourful charity fundraiser well known to the people of Cambridge. A familiar sight in the city\'s Market Square over several decades, Snowy Farr collected many thousands of pounds for the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind. In recognition of his tireless efforts, he receiving the MBE in November 1995.(Wikipedia) Snowy Farr was a big part of all Cambridge residents childhood and life. It is true that his greatness extended beyond just Cambridge, with visitors from far and wide, enjoying his menagerie of cats and mice. Hiw warmth and generosity stood out to us all and for that we will never forget him. We think a statue of Snowy Farr in a prominent location in Cambridge City Centre is the only way to ensure that his memory lives on forever.
