The council has officially withdrawn plans to sell the community centre. I am drained from this long struggle but relieved we kept this space for Penge. Keep watching this building because we need to ensure it actually becomes the resource our neighborhood deserves.

Final supporters
We believe that Penge is an area with great social need, with a population made up of many different cultures, ages and people groups. At this time we feel that it's vital for community based assets, like this one, to remain open and available for community use.
Less than a year ago, a young man was shot and killed outside this very building as it lay dormant and unused. We want to see it filled with life, hope and programs that will benefit the whole of the community. As mentioned in this article, there is a massive lack of youth activities in Penge and the surrounding area. Bromley have promised that they are serious about addressing real issues like this. They now have a chance to create lasting change, not just short term financial gain.
The London Borough of Bromley want to sell this property. We want to see it remain open in the community for the community.

We hit one hundred signatures today. It has been a difficult haul to get even this far but seeing this number tells me the community is paying attention.

We need accomodation but what we need the most are community centres that help the existing community to have a better life. What will young people in the community do with accomodation they won't be able to afford anyway? it's much better to invest in the existing community.
I believe the hub should be kept how it is as my little brothers really enjoy the football on a Saturday and also it's full of friendly and inviting people also provides lots of activity for the children around the community at all different ages
Short sighted if the youth of Penge are left aimless - young people are the community's future - social engagement and meeting places needed. Scandalous if the only one in Penge is closed down for profit making purposes.
Open it as a youth centre in Khadar's memory! Somewhere for other young people to go to keep off the streets so no other family have to go through what Khadar's did. RIP XXX
The young people and community of Penge need things to do and a sense of belonging. That could be provided if Snowden Close could be kept in order to reach out to the community. Christ Central Church have the resources to be able to meet some of these needs. It would not serve the needs of our community to sell the building.

Leisure facilities/meeting places for young people are essential all over London we called them youth clubs in my day. Such a waste of a great local meeting point for the youth of the Penge and nearby if this place closes.
