This is a post I sent my sons teacher about this subject when I heard about it, Yes I agree but I do want to say that I'm upset about the change in the remote snow days. I understand doing it that way will give the kids, teachers and staff more summer vacation and helps keep dates accurate. I also on the other hand though think above and beyond has changed for the kids already. Growing up Snow days was always a big thing to us and now to this day is a big surprise for my kids/was. We always dressed up and played in the snow or helped shovel or slept in when we didn't think we could. I just think its sad thats being changed too on top of everything else. Its not like it changes summer scedual that much. I under stand its probably just packets or what not but its just sad this too now on top of so much already being taken away and changed. Sorry I just wanted to express my opinion on that pitucluar part but yes we have internet and prepared for remote learning if needed. Thank you for reaching out and trying to help all :)

The easy way out is seldom the best for our children..Just because we can do something doesn't mean we should. We pay taxes for administrators to make decisions and professionals to perform. Safety has never been compromised in the past. We can continue in the best interest of our children and community. Why wouldn't we?

Our children have lost all sense of normalcy in these times and teachers and parents deserve the break they have always received when poor weather arrives. If we go over our allotted days then utilize virtual learning so that we aren’t adding days to the year but allow our kids to breathe.

Snow days are already built into the system - use remote days for when those are "used up," if necessary.

The kiddos have definitely lost too much already. Snow days are one of the biggest things they have to look forward to during the school year here!!!

Please keep snow days in place for our students and teachers. Love the idea of the compromise system.

Kids have lost enough over the last 8 months, there’s no need to take something else from them.

Snow days provoque flickering internet, more work for teachers to clean their home or resolve issues if power outage and more stress on them. Both teachers and students should have a day off to relax or resolved weather situations. Please give back the snow days.

Keep the built in snow days and go remote with any additional. Snow days ARE magical and provide an unexpected and often much needed break!

I believe the schools should keep snow days and not remote learning due to inclement weather.

I don't understand or think it's fair to take away the snow days. They're already built into the calendar to begin with. Just because they can go remote now shouldn't make a difference. Both teachers and kids need a break!! I think they should get to use their built in snow days then they can go to what they're planning to do.
