Yes opening schools allows our children to interact with their friends while learning in person versus through a screen which can be very difficult for some kids. The schools have been awesome with their action steps to keep everyone safe.

With a bias towards allocating teacher to LEVS at the expense of the others, we desperately need to open schools.

For the mental well being of our students and our community, they need to be returned to school. The district administration has a safety plan in place. It will work.

Please re-open school, require teachers/staff to get vaccine when they are able. It is a must do to get us back to normal. Please consider 2021 seniors back on campus, missing milestones is terrible for these kids.

I have e 3 kids in the SMUSD and we need to open school up now! Education is essential! Ours kids are dying on a daily basis from depression, isolation and anxiety!

I’m hoping that SMUSD starts working on getting kids back rather then talking in circles. After the last board meeting I pulled out of my kids out of the district, my high schooler is being naive and giving it another month in hopes they get to go back. I’m really sad to see dr holts hard work over his time in the district go down the tubes in a couple years. Shame on SMUSD for allowing that!!!
