2136 B.C. was the first recorded solar eclipse in China. The earth experiences 2 to 5 solar eclipses annually, and the continental US has experienced 15 total since 1867. On April 8, 2024, Maine will be in the direct path to observe the solar eclipse!

This event is an incredible opportunity for our St. Michael School students to learn about science, history, religious perspective of solar eclipses, and have a little fun with it!

This petition seeks your support to ask the administration to RECONSIDER its decision to have an early release on April 8th. As an alternative, we are asking the administration to offer an educational and fun experience for our students!
