#SmoothStretch is a campaign proposing the transformation of Goldsmiths' student union bar into a self-organised creative space and social hub.

Imagine a cross between a social center, art space and hack lab: an autonomous 'DIY' space created and orchestrated for students, staff and the wider community.

As public space comes under increasing threat from austerity and commercialisation #SmoothStretch seeks to re-inject the commons into campus and community.

The campaign proposes the collaborative creation of a Student Charter outlining a vision and set of policies for a self-organised space on campus.

This petition is seeking signatures to show support for this initiative in principle.

This initiative is conditional on the continuation of employment contracts currently active at Goldsmiths and the SU.
