I really did not think this would gain so much traction when I started typing it out on my phone in the park parking lot near the swings. It is honestly overwhelming to see how many people care about the air quality for our kids because sometimes I feel like I am the only one noticing the cigarette butts in the sand by the slide.

SMOKING AROUND KIDS IS WRONG. PERIOD.
My grandkids love the park but the cigarette butts are everywhere. It is gross and not safe for them to be playing near that trash.
Just wish people would have a little more respect for public spaces. Keep the smoke away from the playground please.
Cigarettes hurts everyond around it and it hurts the other people around it than it does the smoker.
If we can figure this is bad in wild and wierd Austin, surely you people down there can get it.
No smoking near kids!
Smoking should not be permitted in areas where children play.

Smoking at city parks can start fires especially since we haven't gotten the rain like we use to. If kids see people smoking then they may take up the habit as they get older. Plus, people who smoke hardly ever throw their butts in the trash and usually throw it on the ground which can lead to a filthy park.
