I'm a new renter at the Confetti condos and the smoking is terrible. Whats worse is the weed smell everywhere. I get that it was passed that its legal it doesn't but it shouldn't mean that while I sit in my condo that I can smell it. I hope this passes or at least restricts it a lot.

The way the construction of this building is designed in todays standard is code violation. If you take the cork panels down that hide your AC, you will notice holes broken in the sheetrock, that is because there is no ducting for the AC to pull air in, so the unit is pulling air from in the walls to circulate into your living confines. Which means if there were mold, dead rats, cigarettes from the guy next door you would be breathing it....next time u change your air filter look inside were i insert the filter and you will notice it is an unsealed system, “ open walls” which explains why the second hand smoke is so bad. We are using a shared ventilation system, which is more reason to can smoking all together!

Every single day I come home to the cigarette and weed smell. I constantly have to be using anti-odor sprays. I have paid couple of hundreds of dollars to clean my AC unit. Until someone told me that the smell comes between the walls. Is just ridiculous how strong the smell is.

I haven't used the pool or spa in almost three years because people smoke in and around both (the Board of Directors does not enforce the rule against smoking in the common areas). Ash and cigarette butts get into the water, and the air is full of poisonous smoke. One resident also smokes almost daily in my parking spaces instead of his own, so I always have ash on my car. Smoke-damaged properties aren't worth as much as smoke-free homes, so the smoking has a negative financial impact for homeowners, too. And the increased fire risk affects everyone. The Board of Directors needs to join the 21st Century and make this property smoke free.

Wait a minute! Its not ok to barbecue chicken on my balcony once in a great while, but its ok for someone to chain smoke all day. Who made those rules? Sounds like a conflict of interest. Might have to consult with the family attorney on that one.

I hope this goes through. We want to start a family soon but can’t until the neighbors around us stop smoking because (obviously) secondhand smoke would be bad for a baby/pregnancy.
We can’t afford to move so we just have to put our life plans on hold because of one person’s habit. It’s very unfair.

This is a long overdue deal. My neighbor and i have been suffering for the last two years from the guy downstairs. We are forced to keep our windows closed and as a result we are running our AC non stop, and its costing us a fortune. Not to mention her place smells like an ashtray from it traveling through the walls. No one has the right to endanger the health of others beacuse of a worthless bad habit.
