Smash Bill HB227! Unjust Sound Ordinance for Oahu Bars and Clubs.

I'm a sound engineer and this bill makes no sense

I oppose HB227.

A horrendous bill that overlooks how important playing live music is to hundreds of good people.

might as well put the city on a full lock down curfew. Traffic noise is louder. This bill is retarded.

This bill is unrealistic and will hurt not only businesses but entertainers. This is not what Oahu needs.

This is ridiculous. Noise levels aren't that bad coming out of clubs. Music is the heart and soul of China town, as well as art

This bill is unrealistic. 60 decibels is the volume of a typical converstation in close quarters. 80 decibels is light traffic on a city street from 10 feet away. To limit the noise level to 60db after 10pm is unrealiustic as the street noise from cars driving by will be 20 db louder than the allowable limit! And how far away will the sound level be measured? Whose apartment window will the police be standing in when measurements are taken? This bill has more to do with a complaint by a small group of people who don't know anything about what they've written a bill about. Please rescind this bill.

Chinatown has traditionally been a night-life neighborhood in Honolulu. It does not make sense to impose a noise ordinance for this part of town now, as there has never been a need for one prior. Local businesses have successfully revitalized this area of town. A major component of that shift has been access to live music. If a sound ordinance is to be imposed, it should reflect the larger goals that the department of planning and permitting has for the city.

Don't move into an area (Waikiki) if you Don't like the sound issues. Waikiki bars and clubs support a larger tourist tax base then these short sighted idiots realize. Wake up folks or you wont be getting your free lunch anymore...

Enough with draconian laws,

Another way to shut down bars. Lets see here, vacationers drink, a lot! Tourism goes down, businesses shut down, people loose jobs, Hawaii economy in recession!

As a DJ, and a frequent patron of the nightlife in Chinatown I am against this Bill 100%.

This bill would harm the local economy. If people don't want to live with the noise of a city maybe they should move out of Waikiki.
