Smaller Haddonfield Class Sizes

With increased State aid to severely underfunded schools, including Haddonfield, perhaps this conversation can continue to grow as the budget expands over the next seven years. Moving Kindergarten to a different site, and allowing for more staffing of new classrooms, the potential is there.

I strongly support reducing the class size policy.

In coming 4th grade at central elementary school is a big class! They need to add an extra teacher as they have in the past ! Currently there are only three 4th grade teachers making classroom size over 25 students per/class! Larger classrooms DO NOT breed success!

As an educator i have seen greater class sizes lead to lower performances

The research on the effectiveness of smaller classes at this age is clear. Increasing class size is a big mistake.

Haddonfield's school system is its greatest asset - and we need to keep it that way, by capping class size!

Class size matters!

There is nothing more important than my son’s education and well being. I’m living in Haddonfield and willing to pay 23000$ per year in taxes due to the reputation I the Haddonfield school system. However, if classes continue to grow, the level of education will decline, and the school system and Haddonfield as a whole, will no longer be a desirable area for growing families. Subsequently, home values will decline ect. If all of the schools in Haddonfield are increasing their class size, that is terrible, but it is deplorable if only Tatem is targeted to add additional students to each class. This is all extremely disappointing and reason enough to sell and move to more progressive areas such as Moorestown.

Just look at the house sales in town. Every time an older couple/person who has not had kids in the schools for 20+ years sells a young family with kids moves in. Soon we will get to a crisis point with over population in our schools. We need to build a new middle school and make Central one big elementary that can handle the over flow from all the sections in town.

C'mon guys. Where are we, Philly? There is plenty of tax money given to resolve this and the space can be easily engineered to accommodate additional classes with modular building structures. Get this done.

We need smaller class sizes to keep the integrity of the schools in Haddonfield. That’s why people move here.

Please address this critical need and allocate resources accordingly to address this issue effectively.

As an educator I know that there is a big push in differentiation in the classroom. This is easily achieved when classes are a smaller size. The larger the class is the less time a teacher can get to the individual needs of every student. Larger class sizes make both the teacher and student suffer. Please consider how increasing class size will negatively effect both student and educator.

I am an educator in a nearby district and know first hand the positive and direct impact smaller class sizes have on student academic success. As a parent of future Lizzie Haddon students I want to be assured my children receive the best possible education - the BOE can ensure this reality for my children and all the children of our town by lessening the class size.

Please keep class size in check

I am very concerned about the teachers being able to meet the needs of all the students.

I am the parent to a rising first grader and two younger children, and I am concerned about class size at Tatem.

The issue with overcrowding is particularly alarming when you consider how many kids with food allergies there are at the school. My child is actually afraid to go to school because of all the non-holiday class parties and birthdays they celebrate.

My child requires frequent monitoring and accommodations which are more difficult in large classes.
