Its time to look at our options for a solution, I need your help! I plan to present this petition in front of city council. I am looking for speed humps and or signs that support kids at play. This morning while my kids where waiting for the school bus, around 7:20am there was a young man driving a black chevy car driving 40+ mph passing my children. I have 2 very active young boys and they like to play, ride bikes and run and with other young kids on our street. We have a family neighborhood with lots of great space for our kids to run and play, which is one of the reasons we moved here 2 years ago. However, the more active my kids get.. the more I am noticing the amount of speeding that goes on in front of my house. I live on Open Meadow, close to Cornucopia. A month ago, I posted on our community facebook page " Drivers and parents of drivers... please please please slow down on Open Meadow... lots of kids out who are learning how to stay away from the street. I have young kids who are learning and testing boundaries... you may not see them, please and thank you. Which helped for about a week. I have seen parents, seniors, young adults exceeding the 25mph speed limit feet in front of my children.
