I am signing to help reduce the speeding but please no speed humps. I don't speed and they are still a pain to deal with. I feel our town is turning into speed bump heaven.

South Riverside Dr has become a very dangerous road for our children as well as the residents. Please help keep us all safe.

Please also add North Riverside to the list. I also have resorted to screaming at people. Is it going to take a child being hit to get police presence?

Alot of people are walking with children and their dogs at all hours and it's getting very dangerous. It seems as if more and more cars are speeding.

Cars constantly speed down the street
I've almost been hit walking the dogs
And I've seen countless near misses by Speeding cars with oncoming cars and pedestrians
I've almost Been rear ended pulling into my driveway
I'm constantly tailgated doing the speed limit Something has to be done I don't even like to walk my dogs on s Riverside Drive that's how bad it is

Might help if Neptune Police stake out South Riverside over a month or two at unpredictable days/times and issue speeding tickets. Might get folks to think twice about exceeding speed limit.

Speeding in Shark River Hills is really gotten to the point where it's becoming a safety issue. Not only is Riverside Drive an issue, Lakewood and Brighton Avenue are problems too. Motorist's pass my home on Brighton in excess of 40 mph. I really hope this petition works!

We have lived on South Riverside Drive on the upper end for 37 years now. The speeding has been here since the day we moved in. We are on the last bend before Brighton Avenue and I always feared a car would crash through our fence and into our kids who's swing set and tree swing were up in the front yard. A series of speed bumps from Snake Hill to Brighton Avenue would dramatically decrease the number of speeding cars. The problem that I have always witnessed in Shark River Hills is in if you go the speed limit there are idiots that will tailgate you.

I think the higher forms of speed bumps are effective or even the speed signs that light up with your speed as you pass them by... Is there some way to have speed cameras set up throughout SRH? This would alleviate the need to have a police presence at all times... but would catch the speeders in the act!

Signed. Ridiculous speeding problems on Woodmere Ave. 500 block (awful idea with speed bump on Lakewood on same 'block'; people just detour to Woodmere, my road).

Traffic has increased over the years and the number of people driving over 35mph is problematic.. Another part of the issue: motorcycles are loud enough without revving their engines as many of them speed up South Riverside.

Speeders should be issued tickets. Traffic calming efforts should be increased. A bike lane should be considered.

I walk all over SHR and speeding is a problem on all of the "main" roads through SRH not just upper S. Riverside. It's a problem on some of the side roads as well.
