Let's induct Sloan into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame!

It's not just the brilliant singles from the 90s, the artful videos (watch The Good in Everyone and then the beginning of Easy Rider), or their longevity. It's their energy on stage, their relationship with the fans, and most importantly the quality of the albums they CONTINUE to release. Their 12th album is every inch as good as the earlier releases, among the best in my opinion. These guys, the same four guys from the beginning, are great ambassadors for the music of this country

This is a no brainer. SLOAN are giants. Every album they put out is a competition between four of Canada's greatest songwriters. Pure Canadiana!

Best Canadian Rock and Power Pop Indie Band in the last 30 years. 4 amazing individuals who sing and write uplifting and intellectually stimulating songs for everybody who loves to listen to them. I have all their wroks from the Peppermint EP through to 12. A dozen great albums from a Canadian national treasure. Some like Tragically Hip or Arcade Fire or Broken Social Scene or Blue Rodeo, all fine bands. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter myself my tastes for songwriting are most satisfied by the music written by Murder Records Founders and smart rockers SLOAN! Why hasn't this already happened?!?

Sloan is an amazing band that no only creates beautiful music but has created a model of equality, cooperation, understanding and support which is difficult to find in the entertainment and creative fields.

This is a no brainier!

Sloan is one of the, if not the most consistent bands in Canada. They have impacted the Canadian music landscape in massive ways.

I've only been to Canada once in my life but Sloan has been one of my favorite bands since I discovered them in 1998. They have managed to create an extraordinarily successful creative collaboration and consistently good records throughout their history and so far without the weird jazz phase that so many artists seem to go through. That alone is worth a place in the hall of fame!

Sloan is the best rock group.

With four distinct singer/songwriters, twelve quality albums and one soon-to-be released, nine JUNO award nominations and one JUNO award win for best alternative album, and adoring fans all around the world, Sloan deserve the honor of being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
