If the petition were to start school 1-2 hours later I would completely agree with your argument but I don't see what 30 minutes can significantly do to affect anything after school.

On the subject of sports being pushed back, games wouldn't be rescheduled or pushed back because the games already start late and some schools we play already start school later. And if it's 30 minutes how much of a difference is it really going to make for after school activities? Most already start at 2:30 or 2:45 anyway. I really don't think 15 minutes away from your house is going to change how much free time you have or how fast you get your homework done. The buses would be fine because if we start at 8 that still gives them an hour until cls starts. Honestly I don't think people realize the impact 30 more minutes of sleep can do for the people who use it. I would much rather get 8 hours of sleep than 7.5 or any ratio thereof. It would make people much more awake in the morning if only because it's later. It would increase grades which would make the school happy

Sports will be later in the day, sports games will have to be all rescheduled, schedules will have to be changed. And we get out later. I believe most people like getting out at 2 o'clock, it's early enough in the afternoon that you still have time left in the day to do something at home, or an out of school activity. I honestly believe that if you do get all the signatures it won't make it passed the school board. It would change so many things
Also the bus schedule would have to be changed. And CLS would have to go in later so the busses can bus in the middle school and high school students
