To the President and Board of Trustees:
The undersigned members of the faculty and staff cannot accept further benefit and salary cuts. While we understand the urgency of the problem, we do not see this as the best way to address it. We are already bearing the burden of recent cuts and salary freezes. Moreover, we have always subsidized the college by willingly working beyond the terms of our contracts and employment agreements. Further cuts would not only result in additional pain and lower morale, but would also weaken the college institutionally.
We ask that deficits be addressed, instead, by short and long term attention to a creative and committed revenue raising effort. We stand ready to cooperate in every way with such an effort to preserve the college we all love.
The administration has acknowledged receipt of our petition and we are currently arranging a formal discussion with the Board of Trustees. I am reading through your collective comments and remain moved by the dedication you have shown toward the future of this institution.

Fix the budget by actually innovating for once instead of just taking it out of our pockets.

Enough is enough. We give 110 percent every single semester and this is how we are treated? Unbelievable.
