Tembec took the time to call me so I could take my meds. Not these guys. The old fire chief took the time to also give me the heads up.

It is so beyond the time for the Ministry of Forests to recognize that using the Cranbrook 'index' is just not appropriate for weather conditions (present and forecast) in the Elk Valley.

Stop with the slash burning! People are sick, literally, of the smoke!

My daughter has a heart condition and sensitive lungs due to being born prematurely. We can't even go out right now with the smoke so bad.

The air index for cranbrook is not sufficient information for Elkford.

Don’t have a respiratory problem but the air quality burns my eyes and going outside for fresh air is a problem now.

The current method for assessing wind direction and venting is not working. Elkford shouldn’t look and smell like Mordor for the sake of slash burning.

Strongly agree with this ! Indexing should be done in the area directly affected, not from somewhere over 100km away that does not have to live with the outrageous smoke !

I don't have any respiratory problems either but the smell in my home is bad. I do worry about future affects on our health.

Each year we have to deal with this, and for family members with asthma it is a NIGHTMARE! Please use air quality indexes in the city or town where the burning is happening. Cranbrook is 2 hours away and the prevailing winds come from the SOUTH in this neck of the woods!
