This petition applies to everyone in Mr. Halpern's IB HL 5-6 English class.
He told us that he extended the essay deadline to Wednesday morning at 4 a.m. and stressed that there will be no extensions after that. However, I believe the strict deadline is unnecessary. Instead, we should be able to turn it in within a looser Wednesday - Thursday time frame. I know I, as well as many of you, will greatly benefit from a mini-extension. We also know that because of all the snow days as well as spring break, our schedule in general has been very rushed. Therefore, it is only fair that we can turn our essays until Thursday morning. Not any later though, because we should allow Mr. Halpern a good amount of time over break for grading.
As of now, some people have already submitted their papers, so he already has things to grade on Wednesday. For the rest of us, allowing just one more day to work will help those of us who need it. I'm sure he would much rather read good-quality papers turned in a little late rather than less-quality ones that are on time.
Is this fair? I am open to suggestions and/or critique.

my workload this week is insane. one more day would make such a huge difference for my grade.
