This community would benefit from supporting a skatepark just as it does with the BMX and other sports that are already established in Rock Hill

My generation had indigo moon which helped keep a lot of us out of trouble. Let’s not fail the younger generation from the same thing and help them become something by supporting their dreams

Skateparks are a place where people from all walks of life are able to join in on the fun and help build an inclusive, supportive community. These facilities promote belonging and help build on to the long-standing culture that has independently thrived in Rock Hill for multiple decades now. As a Rock Hill native and lifelong skater, I fully support the building of a skatepark at RiverBend Park.

As a young man who's skated for a decade this needs to happen. The friendships gained and the persistancy required to keep going is fundamental mentally for young kids. It teaches you to keep trying when you fall and it's great exercise. After revert closed (old skatepark in Rock hill) my only option to skate was to either do it on businesses property or drive an hour to the closest park. I think this would greatly benefit not only the city but the citizens in it.
