My 16-yr-old son travels too far from home to visit skate parks that we know nothing about. It would be so nice to have something nearby that is safe for local kids.

With the existing cycling and outstanding youth community in general, a proper above board park like this for skateboarding and freestyle bmx (a newly added Olympic sport) is sorely needed. Please consider adding this to the amenities that York County has to offer.

My son needs a place to skate! We now drive all the way to Waxhaw to their skatepark downtown. This would be great for York County!

Skateboarding is going to be in this summer’s Olympic Games and is about to take off in popularity. It’s a great time to get ahead of the demand. Kids will be skating somewhere, may as well be at a park that is safe and an approved area.

Skateparks are the perfect addition to a community where you want kids of all ages to grow together . The kids do a lot of workout without even realizing it!

We would really like to see this project go through, especially after my 10 yr old son was kicked out of Riverwalk for riding his skateboard on the path along side me and my younger son on our bikes. He is afraid to ride a bike, and getting him out of our neighborhood to skateboard at Riverwalk while we rode bikes was something I was looking forward to. I was so disappointed to learn that skateboards aren't allowed on that path, or at Cherry Park. My 10 yr old son felt so guilty for "ruining" our family fun at Riverwalk because he doesn't ride a bike. A skateboard park like this would be a great service of inclusion to the community of skateboarders.
