Although I'm from the States, a Skatepark is a positive outlet & creates a hub for the local skateboarders to go.
It will keep them off private property, and any tourists in the area who also happen to skateboard would probably be interested in checking it out.
It will also stimulate the local economy, skateboarders appreciate a good drink/meal as well.

Having a skate park will keep skaters off of private property and give police and property owners one less thing to deal with. It will also provide a safe place to practice skating and give kids new ways of getting outdoors.

Well the idea is to use this as support when we approach the ministry of youth and sports with a proposal. So it's not a guarantee that they will go forward with it, but the more signatures we get, the more compelling of an argument we have. Even if they don't decide to go through with it, at least a discussion has started and we can still use this to approach other entities besides the government.

We need to try to give our young people every possible positive avenue to entertain themselves or be entertained; to keep them off the blocks, away from drugs and violence; to remain active, healthy and happy.
