I have been spending my evenings researching local ordinances and trying to find the right person to talk to about a designated space. It is a slow and confusing process but I am not walking away from this yet.

Seeing this kind of momentum is exhausting but it proves how badly this space is needed. We have hit a point where the local authorities can no longer look away from the need for a safe place to ride.

Every kid, big and small, should have access to a skate park. It is great exercise and helps To keep them from skating in unsafe places.
There are quite a few children how have been enjoying skateboarding in the neighborhood. They are VERY respectful BUT there's no place for them to really be able to use their boards. Which brings the issue of them making ramps out of the picnic furniture under the gazebo. These things are becoming broken due to not being used properly. A 100% easy fix for this would be a skate park. It doesn't have to be overly large. A size similar to the dog park would be perfect! The only other option would be for ramps and rails to be privately bought and used out in the road. This would bring about a whole other issue entirely! Not a good second option.
Very good point. My kids often skated with adults at Fort Hood... lots of soldiers letting of steam or just having fun.

They need something like this for the older kids! There are so many playgrounds, but nothing really outside for teens!

Safe places for teens to hang are desperately needed in Overseas duty stations!!
