Skatefe is a positive environment which brought people from a bunch of different backgrounds together and gave them the opportunity to build a culture of creativity and recreation. I don't understand why anybody would want to take that away from the youth!

I m for recreation that keeps kids off the streets, out of gangs and encourages exercise. A former skateboarder my self and remember the 80's when all the Southern California skate parks were being shut down, tore down. Skaters and spectators lost those special places. And guess what.. Gangs made a big comeback in those areas. I should know because I gave away my Powell and Peralta t shirts and bought Raider apparel and before long was involved in the game.
All that to say, please keep the skate park. Please give our young people a place to go.

SkateFe is a local landmark. To tear it down would not only deprive skaters of somewhere to skate, but be detrimental to the community network that has grown through its existence. Many city parks are flat, buildable pieces of real estate. Their value comes from the enjoyment of the community in that space, not from location or ownership (or lack thereof). Skate parks should be no different. Save SkateFe!

Our city needs more youth oriented activities. This park built by and for local residents and their families should be endorsed, enabled, and promoted nationwide, not shut down because there was not enough profit in it? What about the money saved on kids and adults skating instead of shooting up, painting murals instead of tagging gang names on public property, building and working to build something that gives one a sense of pride in what they are doing, as opposed to disrupting other active members of society because it is hot, they are bored, and there is literally no anything in this town to engage them?

My nephew and my boys skate this park. They love it!! This is a good place and I don't want to see it shut down. The skaters need a place to skate

Place for kids to be off the streets, off drugs, outta trouble, and express themselves by skating their hearts out. At the very least sell the rest of the land and keep this intact for the Tulare/Visalia community!

Save skate-fe.!! Rec skatepark is a breeding ground for drugs and alcohol. kids who don't want exposure or to go so far for it shouldn't have too.

I've lived here for years! Seen this place built from the ground up.....they did this! We have nothing on this side of town! It's taken care of, money I'm sure spent out of pocket, no disobedience, just a good group of kids! This coming from law enforcement! We actually enjoyed watching them.
