The city finally caved and committed to the rebuild of Ulysses Skatepark. Golden officials finally realized they could not ignore us any longer. We won this because we refused to let our park fall apart while they looked the other way.

The city council keeps ignoring the crumbling concrete at Ulysses but this wave of support proves they cannot hide from us anymore. Seeing this momentum grow is a clear signal that Golden is finished with being pushed aside. We are going to keep turning up the pressure until they finally fix this park.

Golden has gotten with the times to build a nice bike park. The existing skate park, although once good for the times, those times have passed. Cities all around Golden have world class parks and those parks bring in not only local skaters to the economy of each town, but they bring in traveling skaters from all over. kids like me (40 years old) have gotten back into skating because of the quality of the parks around giving us a place to go and make our own. It isn't so cool to get chased off by the cops for street skating at 40... Let's do this Golden, it will be a great thing for local business when people come to town to visit the park, they will eat and possibly stay in town if they are traveling.
I use to skate there when I was a kid an it should be revamped for future kids to have fun on and keep it modern
The skate park desperately needs updated! I would love to be able to bring my kids here to skateboard and know that they are safe.
I have lived in golden for all 28 years of my life and I have spent a long portion of those years at that skate park. Everyday before and after school growing up. This place has been ran down and out dated for a long time and it needs to be addressed. There is so much room for potential. It could be bigger and better than the Arvada park and it would be closer to home. Bring our skaters back to golden!!!!
I fully agree with this petition, Colorado has become one of the largest hotspots for skateboarding, with the whole of Golden putting some of the best skateboarders I have seen in some of the biggest competitions, we would benefit from having people come here to skate, and the local scene would benefit from advancing the skate park.
For the sake of the kids. It's all for the kids, as they are the future.

im a skater and I would love to see this happen cause Ulysses is the closest skate park I go to.
