Anything that keeps our young people safer, keeps them spending time together, to build people's skills, and physically fitter away from City Centres has to be be well worth it. Come on East Linton show the way.

My son is an avid skate park user in East Linton. He has a massive passion for skateboarding and scootering which was begun with access to the skate park in North Berwick 'the Space' which closed due to redevelopment despite being a viable business. This loss hit him hard. It was a really valuable resource for young people which has never been replaced which really supplied a great need within the community of young people in East Lothian. This impact of this loss needs to be rectified not just for East Linton but for the many others in the area whose skills and passion are not being furthered because of this loss of facility. I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up recently and he said he wanted to work towards being able to skooter professionally but he then said that will never happen because he did not live close enough to a good skate park. He has the talent but not the facilities and we do not have the money or the time to constantly take him where he needs to get to and I am also disabled making it even more challenging if this is not local. I believe if he had the facility he would work hard towards his aim. I want him to have this opportunity. This is where his passion lies. It makes me sad that I cannot provide this for him.
