A skate/BMX Park is a great outlet for the youth of America to gather, socialize and leave all these crazy times behind for a moment and just have fun. Live life without fear, take flight and just enjoy yourself. Oh to be young again. Build it and they will come!

The money the town of Matthews has spent on skate stoppers and repairs on public grounds caused by skateboarding, could be better spent on a skatepark.

When my daughter was 14, she wanted to do her Girl Scout gold project on starting a skate park in Matthews. Life got in the way. But she and her friends were often talking about how there was nothing for the teens to do in Matthews that was easy to access, fun, and safe. It is really needed.

Yes the only nearby skatepark we have is in Waxhaw and it is not the nicest so it will be great if we have another one!
