Dear Mr. Deroba,

It is with sadness, anger and an overall confusion that we write this letter. As football alumni at SJV we respectfully request the current staff of the football team be removed and replaced immediately. The program and school has lost its way. We are no longer proud to say we are SJV football alumni and do not see the program living out the mission of the school. You have had a series of coaching turnovers in the last decade that has brought the program wins and the school a lot of shame. You have lost your way and Coach Martucci is not the man to right the ship. He is a Matawan Husky who never respected or liked SJV. All he wants is his 200th victory. His selection of Charlie Rogers and your support of the hire is embarrassing. The audio tape of coach Martucci that is circulating is not the action of a coach representing the SJV that we are proud of. You could have a great opportunity on your hands if you have the leadership skills to make this bold decision in the interest of the school, the mission and the current and former students.
