This Sunday morning and afternoon, the majority of the students from our A.P. United States History class were caught unaware of the chapter 9 and 10 multiple choice test We found ourselves ill-prepared for the test due to an insufficient amount of lectures and class discussions on the topics. We were also set back because we had a substitute teacher leading our class and were not able to learn and work as well as we usually would have due to his differing teaching methods. We the students of St. John's A.P. U.S. history class of 2011-2012 feel that an extension of time is necessary in order to adequately cover the material that we will be tested on.

This is not the first time many students have been surprised to find out about a test in the very near future from this class. We also feel that the finer details are skimped on when covering material in class. Although we know the key points and themes, it is our knowledge of the finer points that are being gauged during multiple choice tests.

We understand that this is an A.P. class and should be rigorous, but we also believe that we have not been adequately prepared to be immediately thrust into a curriculum of this difficulty yet. We feel that more lectures are necessary in order to help prepare us for upcoming tests and quizzes and help us understand the lessons.
