Sithar Namgye has sat at the helm of the Department of Survey and Land Records (DSLR) for decades during which time he has been reponsible for bungling the cadastral surveys of land belong to the people. To add insult to injury, he has further harassed the people by claiming that their land has significant amounts of excess land and demanded that they pay for the land if they want to keep it. He has done this even though he knows that in our subsistence farming nation, most farmers do not have the cash to make such payments. He has been at the forefront of ensuring this problem does not get resolved as he has refused to admit any mistake on his part, insisting that it has always been the people who have stolen government land. Fortunately for the people, His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo has taken it upon himself to resolve the issue by simply giving the land back to the people. However, trouble makers like Sithar Namgye should not be allowed to get away. He has been 'kicked upstairs' now as a High Court Judge. This is a shame indeed as he is now in a place to do more damage than ever. He needs to be removed as early as possible.
