All the people signing this petition want Walter Smith knighted. Smith was manager of Everton & the Scottish national team but has had massive success as manager of Rangers football club winning 9 SPL titles, 5 Scottish cups, 6 league cups & leading a threadbare team to a European final in his 2 spells at Ibrox. As manager of the national team he also won the Kirin cup. Walter Smith deserves to be knighted for his services to football, starting his playing career at Dundee United 45 years ago, he has spent only 6 years out of football. He will leave Rangers on 15th May but has ruled out retirement, everyone on this petition would love to see Sir Walter Smith return to football one day.
