Petition for the establishment of a single six-year term of office for both Congressional and Senatorial seats. The elimination of ones ability to seek re-election and thus a need to refill their campaign chests is neccessary to limit corruption in our Government. To hold onto the power of their seat after a single term is served is quite the opposite of the intentions which our forefathers had in mind when creating our great republic. Today we have people who have made what was intended to be “a duty to be suffered through” into a career which they desperately hold onto for the sake of lining their own pockets in the pursuit of retaining power. Whether Democrat or Republican these politicians have failed to look out for their constituents best interests and must be forced from office.
