All of the students at Cardinal O'Hara High School are just as good by themselves as they would be with a date. A date should be an addition, not a requirement. Let the students celebrate the end of their year the way they see best fit. It's their senior year, not yours.

Prom is suppose to be a time where all the students get together, blow off accrued steam, and just have fun.
While it is still that with the "Date" rule in effect, this regulation is an anxiety filled requirement for receiving that outlet. Meaning, if a student for whatever reason can't acquire a date, they're prohibited from attending the dance. It's simply ludicrous. And it's an old way of thinking. We've made it to 2016, so I say it's time we amend that rule.

It is a class dance, so everyone in the class should be allowed to attend. The "date rule" for prom is outdated!

This doesn't make sense? Prom is about having fun, not just having a date to go with. They should be able to go regardless of if they have or don't have a significant other.

A student deciding to go to prom without a date, should ultimately be their decision. It is after all THEIR prom, and how they chose to enjoy that night is a decision for them to make, not you.

It is unfortunate that every year there are dozens of students that do not have a date to prom, or had a date and their date dropped out last minute, not allowing them to attend prom. Prom is an event that many people have looked forward to as a freshman, and I would very much hate for students to feel left out simply because they do not have someone to go with. If there is a concern with student attendance dropping because there will be one person going rather than a couple, I believe that it will actually entice more students to attend because it relieves the stress of finding a date and will allow more students to go.

Allowing students to go solo to prom is less stressful, less expensive, and more inclusive.
