Ashley Madison

What is it?It is a dating website that facilitates extra-marital affairs between married individuals. Its slogan- "Life is short. Have an affair."
Why does it concern us?It has plans for a launch in Singapore next year. The company not only endorses extra-martial affairs, but also market it as something desirable and good. The endorsement and propogation of such values directly challenges the moral fabric of our society that values marriage and family.

"Life is short. Have an affair." If this slogan disturbs you and you are cringing, do not just ignore it. Cos' if you do, it may soon become harder to ignore if itsuccessfully launches in Singapore. Sign the Petition to "Singapore says NO to Ashley Madison".

Ashley Madison not only endorses extra-martial affairs, but also markets it as something desirable and good. Extra-martial affairs very often destroy family relationships and directly undermine the family unit. By encouraging extra-marital affairs, the company is in fact advocating adultery. While adultery is not a crime, our society considers it immoral as it completely disregards important values like faithfulness and trust, that are essential to marriage and family. The catchy tag line's flippant attitude towards extra-marital affairs also sends a terribly misleading and dangerous message to the public (especially children)- having an affair is not only acceptable, but also natural and rational.

Instead of being silent or apathetic to something thatcan potentially lead to devastating effects such as broken families and broken individuals, let's invest in the future of Singapore today by speaking up together in support of strongfamilies and marriages.

This is a call to action. If you disagree with the values that Ashley Madison espouses and agree that the morality of our society deserves to be protected, sign thePetition to "Singapore says NO to Ashley Madison".
