Singapore | Eunoia | Name Change

My first reaction to the name of EJC was to tell my children to work hard on their 'O -level'. Forget about the IP program. All the effort in developing an IP program for the schools so that the students can have a better education program. Then you name it EJC. What a let down! When there's no school pride, there's no reason to stay. Please change the JC's name! Otherwise, it may end up being a low subscription JC. Eventually, have to shut down. What a pity if that come to pass.

People finds the name of Eunoia difficult to pronounce and to understand. This name is not relevant to Singapore at all.

Take the action to change the name shows that you listen to the public and willing to accept feedback and act according. It is not seen as losing face. Please change the name.

This is a truly a ridiculous name. Not only difficult to pronounce but rhymes with Ebola

I think Trinity Junior College would be a good name as it symbolises 3 schools coming together to form something better. Plus it would also reflect the missionary vision of the schools.

Bishan JC is nice and easy. And the short-form BJC is not used by any other schools yet.

I am an Alumni of St Nicholas and I think choosing Euonia shows an appalling Westernised pretentiousness that totally ignores the rich history and tradition of the 3 secondary schools. Jubilee is a name with no historical links to the school. It's not like it's a new JC starting from nowhere. The name must reflect and not suppress the traditions of the 3 schools. I support TRINITY as a name that signifies the coming together of the 3 schools as well as subtly acknowledges the Catholic tradition which is so fundamental to the ethos of CHS and SNGS.

All schools involved has long history. ..there are other names we can use to reflect local history n theme....we are not Greek nor Latin...

Dear Minister of Education Pls engage our Alumni & Students of SCGS, St Nichs & Catholic High. Let us choose the JC name which best fits our culture, excellent & well-rounded education legacy.

Eunoia is a horrid name. It sounds nonsensical & annoying. Trinity or Jubilee would have been a much much better name. Please please change the name. There's still time.

Hi MOE Pls let the parents and students from the three schools to vote for their new JC name. We don't trust you anymore... the delay of building new JC, the inconvenient location of temporary JC, the improper name of the JC...... really don't know what surprise MOE will give us next. Please lah......my heart is weak...

I sincerely hope that the "EJC" management team and MOE can be more serious in dealing with this JC. As a parent, I only received and heard negative news about this JC, do you ever care the students feeling? do you really think using your brain? do you really consult any of the concern parents / students? We parents work hard, so that we can provide a better life for our kids, we pay tax in time, so that the civil service can function properly. Please don't disappoint us again. Carry out your duty with a caring heart, conscious mind, helping hand, and professional attitude, we are talking about education here, the future of Singapore! Don't play play!! Thanks

First, you announce in 2010 that we will have a new JC in 2017 but you fail to get ready the JC in time in 2017 for the first batch of intake . You say it takes 5 years to built the JC but you only started clearing the land end 2015. You say will be delay, ready mid 2018, then again you say delay to 2020. First, you say go ITE Bishan as interim, then you say cannot, go Mount Sinai~ a place that is far away from where majority of students home. Many appeal against it, YOU DIDN'T HEAR US. You say cannot this, cannot that, everything cannot. Now you name the JC Eunoia, you say its beautiful but the nation is making a joke out of the name. And you still say and insist it‘s beautiful and tell the students to accept it. We appeal for a CHANGE of NAME. Please HEAR US LOUD AND CLEAR. PLEASE LISTEN ... U HEAR US..........

Siimply irrelevant and there was no consultation with parents and students - the main stakeholders. Please make good this mockery as soon as possible.

Hey MOE !! Are you listening or you no ear ? If you have to put so much effort to convince, explain and educate the students and public, it already shows that its a lousy name. Don't waste any more public resources and money to print cards and send clarification letter, you can never change or educate thousands how to pronounce u no ear. Change it right away !!

Please rename it Trinity Junior College. Trinity as an English word means a group of 3. Trinity sounds good, is pronounceable, appropriate and relevant. To MOE & the new principal: the students, parents and public have spoken. Please Listen. U no ear???

To. MOE, JC principal Nobody like the this name, please change it, dont be rigid. No point trying so hard going to CHS, SNGS & SCGS to convince the students that the name is beautiful when it is not. Do you know that the students are not proud of it at all and are demoralise. Please spare a thought for them if you really care. Please hear their cries for a change of name that will make them proud of and not the joke of the nation many years to come.
