Taylormade Racing is developing an exhaust system for the Honda CB1000R. The system consists of a slip-on muffler and a carbon fibre cover. The prototype design of the carbon fibre cover is unpopular among current CB1000R owners. It has curves and lines that clash with the design of the motorcycle. Taylormade Racing has a reputation of producing exhaust systems that blend in with the design of sport bikes. Their exhaust system for the CB1000R is over-stylized and clashes with the simple, angular design of the motorcycle. Many potential buyers have already refused to purchase Taylormade Racing's CB1000R exhaust system based on the prototype design. As a naked bike, the CB1000R's styling has sharp, angular lines. There are no curves and waves like on the Taylormade Racing prototype cover. The original CB1000R exhaust has a minimalistic design with simple lines. Taylormade Racing's exhaust should reflect Honda's original design language for the CB1000R. A carbon fibre cover that blends in with the CB1000R styling will greatly increase sales of the Taylormade Racing exhaust system.
