Keep our Silverstream trails accessible

Keep access free to all who want to use it respectfully.

I use these trails most weekends. Losing access to these amazing trails would be a disaster. They are a huge part for me of what makes Dunedin a great place to live.

This would be devastating! I fully oppose the proposed changes

Dear DCC, I have just heard about the proposal to stop access to these trails without a permit. I utterly oppose this change as I regularly enjoy walking these stunning trails. They are also used by our Scouting community as they surround Waoira Scout camp. I think residents of Dunedin should be able to access their back yard. Thank you Sam

The silver peaks is a magnificent area to learn and train in the outdoors. The Philip J Cox memorial shelter was built by public donation to further safe access for aspiring trappers.

I don't agree with having to have a permit for access to this great area.

As a regular user of the Silverpeaks trails, I am appalled at the thought that access to this important recreational area might be restricted. Keep things as they are! This is an important recreational resource for Dunedin that should not be lost.

These tracks are crucial to the Dunedin trail scene and there should be no question around their accessibility.

Closing the tracks will mean events like 3 peaks will suffer as training in the silver peaks happens throughout the year not just the event weekend. Our tracks should be open for all to use when required.

These trials are the envy of other areas, they are wonderful and so close to the city. It’s unbelievable DCC would restrict access

Dunedins integrated track network is one of the city’s points of difference and a joy for all.

Access to these tracks is part of what makes Dunedin great!

I oppose strongly, the proposed changes by the DCC. Full recreational access must be allowed on these trails. These trails have been accessed by me, my family and friends for decades. These trails are fundamental to our physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing. DCC's proposal is shortsighted and ill informed.

Leave existing arrangements in place. The activity through these areas is only an issue if you are an ideological nutjob. Whether DOC or Regional council are driving these changes, their involvement is not required
