This is a ridiculous move - these tracks are so important to runners and walkers. Dunedin people have a right to get out into nature on these accessible tracks. There are also no good reasons why they are being restricted. Please don't do this to the people in Dunedin who enjoy getting out in nature, keeping fit and healthy!

This is totally unacceptable. Is there a valid reason for this? Why are you trying to stop us from walking and running on these tracks? Terrible.

Anyone should be able to go for a run or walk in our own back yard without having to get approval. These trails, especially need to be available to activities such as the three peaks race, without having to get individuals to get a permit!

Dunedin trails are accessed by a wide range of users, young and old.

These access restrictions would have a negative impact on many people who utilize the areas affected for a lot of training and racing.

We need to be reducing red tape and improving opportunities for recreation

How retarded can the council be?

This would remove a significant outdoor asset for active community members. Appalling.

I oppose the bylaw if it results in exclusion of recreational opportunities including trail running and walking

Please keep this area open for public access. Its an asset for the city to have an area so close to the city that allows you to feel a world away!

You should not need a permit to run in these areas. For the people who use them are exercising, keeping their mental health on track and just for share enjoyment and the views which are amazing. Let’s keep things as they are!!!!

Save our trails!!!!! Running in these places that are vast and wild are so so good for my mental health. The world can be too people-y and we need solitude and freedom to process our inner thoughts/ demons and be a better human . Our mental health is so fragile in this day and age, we need access to these places . It's not a just want its a need.

This is an amazing event which introduces many people to the wonder environment and future walks and journeys into the local hills - people should be allowed to trail run in the local hills

NZ promotes itself as the great outdoors and encourages everyone to get out and experience this, so surely these trails should be freely open to everyone to enjoy
