The fares are rarely taken, especially when it's really busy, so there isn't a true reflection of usage. There definitely needs to be more carriages at peak times.

going by train to Lancaster is a quicker option, however on some trains they are over crowded , i can see how this would put people off.

I travel to Liverpool by train to see relatives and the new timetable makes it difficult to complete the journey and spend time with them in daylight.

The poor service is getting worse. We like to visit Manchester for shows and shopping but the service is getting more difficult to use. We might have to resort to driving!!

When the trains first came to Silverdale a lot of Manchester business men built houses in the village and commuted to their offices by train, could they do that now?
Good transport links from here and onwards to the Furness Peninsular are vital for the economy of the whole area.
With the opportunity of Hyperfast broadband in the area courtesy of B4YS under the B4RN umbrella the possibilities of attracting companies into the are is improving but physical links will still be required.

If you can't make the 11.23 train from Lancaster to Silverdale the next one is not until 14.21. Surely Northern Rail can improve on that!

In the new timetable, the service has been further reduced and there are now big gaps in the schedule. Particulary sad is the demise of the morning 10.08 train direct to Manchester.

With the development of Morecambe Bay for tourists and day visitors, this is the time for expanding the service to Silverdale, taking cars off the rural roads and reducing parking needs, not missing out one stop and squashing people into uncomfortable carriages.

It is ridiculous to have to continue to Arnside and take a train back to Silverdale when the train only needs to stop for 2 minutes. The service is needed to visit Leighton Moss, go walking and to visit the village.

All trains need to stop at Silverdale and there is a need for increased seating capacity by making all trains a minimum of 3 carriages.
