I think I signed this last time around: I sincerely hope I need not sign it again. Barbara has been a stalwarthy supporter of theatre for as long as I can remember. It is always a reassuring delight to see her sitting in the front row, or being greeted by her with a programme as you enter a theatre. It is time we gave back.

As a theatre administrator, it is not just a joy to see Barbara at so many events, but to know how much she supports so many of them as a volunteer. I cannot think of a more deserving person for this award.

Barbara does not only attend every show, large or small, in the city; she also supports artist's enthusiastically and volunteers at special events and fundraisers. Amazing.

I cannot think of anyone who is more devoted to theatre going, who is more supportive to us and who I would rather see in the front row than our Barbara. I have known her since 1990 and I am a,ways delighted to see her in the audience as I know a lovely conversation will ensure after! Silver Ticket for Barbara Fingerote!

Please consider that Barb's consistent volunteerism is equivalent to working in our industry. She should have been paid for the work she has done. Our industry wouldn't run without the work of volunteers. She is so deserving of this award.

In a quiet conversation with Barbara several years ago she told me that it was the theatre she went to when she was seeking solace. She was having thoughts of harming herself as life had become such a struggle for her and the theatre lifted her back to a place of hope. The theatre saved her and she has sacrificed so much and contributed so much to it. There could not be a better candidate than Barbara.

I do not know anybody more worthy of this Silver Ticket. She is a true champion of Canadian Theatre and it's artists!
