After sending my daughter back to school this year to start the 1st grade, I was disappointed to find a flyer sent home with her telling me that her school lunch would now cost more, additionally if she did not choose a fruit or a vegetable I would be charged an even higher price. I thought a bit on it and decided that we could probably deal with the new policies. Then, her lunch menu came home...I have never seen a stranger menu for such small children with things like: brussel sprouts, fresh sliced tomatoes, refried beans with onions, spinach salad, romaine salad, crunchy spinach...etc. We tried it out for a couple weeks, but after our daughter came home repeatedly asking for food the moment she would get off the bus, we became concerned that she was starving in school. So we have now begun sending our daughter to school with a packed lunch. After seeing several other stories much like our own, we decided to start our own petition against the new school lunch policies. If you are against these new regulations. Please sign this petition!
