Absolute travesty! If the BOE was going to make this decision they could have let Coach Quinn know this in January. His work with the student athletes at EHS has been remarkable. The career asst coach that was inserted to replace a hall of fame coach is a politicians friend!!! Go Figure!!!

As a former United States Marine & Coach that worked in NJ as an educator & coach for the great student athletes of this state I can personally say that one of the best in the business is John Quinn. He molds young men and prepares them for life. Every program he touches turns to gold! Elizabeth BOE shame on you! You need to reevaluate your decision & reinstate him imediately! Elizabeth needs him at the helm! He is a true leader, & these kids have bought into the program! With the season rapidly approaching, to rob these kids of his leadership is shameful! As BOE members, you are suppose to be there for the student athletes of Elizabeth & have their best heart at interest! HELLO??? Wake up this is an injustice! Even though Coach Quinn is not from Elizabeth he has become Elizabeth & the community has embraced him! He needs to be the leader leading these great student athletes onto the field come September! As a former Marine we live by a saying "Semper Fidelis".....translation: Always Faithful. John is always Faithful in every aspect of his career, now you BOE have to be faithful to the kids of Elizabeth & allow John Quinn to be at the helm come September! John was always there for us Marines & was proud of his country & helped me out tremendously when I got into the coaching arena in NJ. He is a mentor, a true friend, & a natural born leader and is the best of the best when it comes to High School Head Football Coaches. He is the real deal! Whatever he touches turns to Gold! Elizabeth if you want Championship Rings on your kids fingers this Fall, reinstate Coach Quinn, & most of all if you want to see these young men of Elizabeth turn into the best Adult men they can be John Quinn is your guy!!!! DO THE RIGHT THING- REINSTATE HIM!!!

I am Coach John Quinn's wife. First, I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of support you have shown my husband. It has honestly helped John and our whole family get through these past few difficult days. My heart is broken for John and I am still in shock that this could happen to such a dedicated man. I have watched my husband's career as a head coach for more than twenty years. It has had its ups and downs but one thing that has always been, win or lose, has been his dedication to his players and their families. No one sees what this amazingly big hearted man has done for so many kids throughout his career and it is not his style to tell you, so let me share a few things with all of you. I have been witness to countless phone calls made by my husband over the years, after getting home from work, on behalf of his players to colleges to see how he can get them in somewhere despite the fact that this child was not qualified to play football at the college level. HE JUST WANTED THE STUDENT ATHLETE TO GET AN EDUCATION! I have been witness to him speaking on the phone with parent after parent discussing anything from grades to whatever personal problem the child or the parent was having at the time and offering his support to do whatever he could to help. I have been witness to him and his assistant coaches take up a collection for what ever player needed such as registration fees, etc. I have been witness to the angst my husband genuinely feels when he wants to do so much more for a kid he loves so much but he's exhausted all of his resources. I have been witness to him bringing in clothing, sneakers, etc. for kids that didn't have what they needed. I have been witness to him driving kids himself to be looked at by colleges because they didn't have any other way to get there. I have been witness to John sacrificing a great deal of his own family life to be there for his players. That is who he is and I wouldn't have it any other way. I

Wasn't a right thing to do and there wasn't really. Good as reason at all to do what they did to him
