If you enjoy the Whale Rock Reservoir Recreation Area for fishing, hiking, biking or picnicking, you will want to sign this petition. The petition is to be brought forth to ask the San Luis Obispo County to open the area for year round day use. Currently, the recreation area is only open six and a half months out of the year. It opens its gates in late April and then closes them again in mid November, locking its gates and restricting day use during some of our best seasonal conditions. If Whale Rock Recreational Area is a place you visit often, occasionally or have yet to enjoy but are planning to experience, sign this petition and help us open the gates for all year access.
