Ever organization faces and deals with some form of ethic issues, lying, stealing, bullying, social and profession cliques, it how they are discovered, the means to address them that is important. I agree, just because there may be a few bad apples does not necessarily mean the entire tree is rotten nor should it be cut down. Again I state this, AU teaches us this in many of their OM/PSY/HRM/ SOC classes. So my point if AU can teach us from books how an organization should operate and the challenges many face in the real world, empower us as students to make vital changes from an education point of view, than why not stand by their teachings and gives the opportunity to put our learning to use, is this not what many of us our paying for?

I agree, again I will say ! there should be a formed committee non EB that is neutral to both ex members and SEK, EB members, some kind of HR committee to reach out to missing, non participating active members and/or resigned members to find out what happen be in their personal, professional, educational life that kept them away, or has made them feel the way they do, this includes finding ways to help, finding what ideas could be placed to change and prevent these emotional decisions. If we do not know what is going on we will never know what or where the problems are or how to address them.

We are an organization still in a toddler stage- being less than 5 yrs old, like a toddlers we are learning about our strengths, weakness, discovering our opportunities, and uncovering our threats. We are growing into our next phase of growth with newly revised policies to weed out issues that threatens our organization and weaken us, while offering opportunities to empower other types of leaders skills to give us guidance towards maturity and success. We are learning to adapt to cultural changes, working together, support creative thinking. building relationships of courage and empowerment. No one organization can be successful without first working out the kins, glitches, nor be without conflicts. Ashford teaches us that conflicts can be positive aspect, empowering is important, and with all my education with AU this organization is no different than any other Society, we deserve a fair chance to grow, they should be advising and engaging us in our success since they are the parent/overseer, meaning we cannot do anything without their approval, we have follow their policies and guidelines.

This group should stay together to continue to support each other and nontraditional education.

I just joined! Its pretty sad for a group to simply give up and quit. That certainly is not empowering and shouldnt be what SEK is about - Being quitters. We can get through this

I am not even a full 90 days new and I think that this should be voted on; however, if there is no backing from Ashford, I am not sure that we have a choice. It's really sad and surprising.

I must say that I am at a loss; I have been a member of Sigma Epsilon Kappa since the very beginning; Although I haven't been as active as I would have liked lately, I follow the boards on Facebook and try to keep up with everyone. I am excited to be a member of a sorority; since I was attending college online, I was afraid I would never have that experience; but the sisters/brothers of SEK gave me that. They were there for me when my father died, and again when my mother died three years later. They provided encouragement and helped me get through some of the most difficult times in my life. And now, because of the actions of a few the solution is to simply shut down? That is ridiculous. I can only speak for myself, but I have seen changes in the organization since the beginning and I'd hope that one day we can become what we once were. We cannot do that unless we are given the chance.

Please give the members a chance to vote on this decision. I feel that with a new board and some hard work, we can get SEK back to its formal glory. No society is perfect, but honestly this one can be rebuilt. Especially with people who honestly care.

I believe this organization should remain because it has a way in benefiting others. it has a right to stay like any other organizations even though I disagree on a few things, but I know how to put personally opinions off to the side.

I don't see why we shouldn't have a chance to fix what is wrong with our organization. There need to be some changes, yes. So we need to have communication. We need to know what exactly needs to be fixed so that we can make this a worthy organization.

We need to keep this organization open. Might need to re-calibrate it a bit but seriously keep it up and running. Do not let what has happened destroy the future of it.
