Chickens are beneficial in many ways and are hardly to be considered a nuisance. Having backyard chickens provides eggs and or meat for families and are educational, teaching aspects of livestock care in a small scale and responsibility. Plus, as much as I love dogs, I'd much rather hear chickens clucking nearby than what sounds like an unruly kennel. Try to review other cities' policies regarding poultry keeping in cities where it is allowed and see what if any callouts they list and make the very reasonable determination that it should be allowed. Thank you for your time.

Our government in the past would say it was your civic duty to raise chickens in your backyard so you would be more self sufficient. There were posters and everything.

I want to be allowed chickens within city limits. I moved from a much larger city that allowed chickens in my backyard and I was shocked to find out it is against a city ordinance in Sidney. We live in America, we should be allowed chickens.

I can not think of one valid reason that can be given as to why residents of Sidney can not have poultry when large cities can have back yard chickens or ducks.
