Walked down Walnut yesterday and it really is a disaster. Just get it done already.

Looks like common sense to me. Why turn down help from the fire dept?

I have spoken time and time again regarding how our Town of Milton gives itself proverbial black eyes over far too many issues. Now comes Mr. Evans, a family man and truly a contributing member of this small but growing town and certainly, a man who has chosen to make his life here and raise children here. Mr. Evans deserves far better than what mayor and council have shown him thus far. Mr. Evans even provided the Town a means to improve the quality of life for all citizens by tapping into grant money that could and should make sidewalk uniformity and safety better and better throughout our Town of Milton and with a funding mechanism to boot! Mayor and council have demonstrated a gross lack of creativity by not embracing Mr. Evans' suggestions and by refusing to listen to him or work closely with him. What a shame and herein lies yet again, another black eye for Milton and sadly, mayor and council left Mr. Evans little recourse but to go to the press -- not the kind of press coverage our elected officials should be eliciting. When will mayor and council learn? The reminder that our elected officials work on behalf of the citizenry is commanded by the very inaction and, yes, downright rudeness that has been shown to this upstanding citizen. Yes, even towns can reap what they sow and comes yet again and through the press, another 'black eye'. This citizen looks for a 'rethinking' and some good degree of good will and far more creativity extended to Mr. Evans in addressing this issue.

Sounds like a plan that could benefit all of Milton.
