Keep a Shuttle in Florida
Notwithstanding that Brevard County, home of the Kennedy Space Center has a greater investment in the Space Shuttle Program by more people, their careers, their families and their sense of personal accomplishment, than any other location on the planet, and Notwithstanding that the area around Kennedy Space Center represents a broader and more robust sense of identity with the Space Shuttle Program at the State, Regional, and community level, down to and including our churches, our Little Leagues & Soccer, our charities, and all that makes us collectively who we are, than any other location on the planet, and Notwithstanding the tremendous history of America’s greatness in Space and that the launch of every American into orbit, occurred right here in Florida, demonstrably exceeding any other location, therefore: We the undersigned challenge any other location in the United States to being more prepared, more capable, and more committed, to assuring that the final home of a flown shuttle will reach more people, more effectively, and more inspirationally than Florida, thus better serving the interests of this nation’s Space Program for generations to come. How can a shuttle not find it's home here in Florida!
