Our ultimate goal is to shut down zoos completely, but this cannot be achieved overnight. The first step is to educate the public on the problems with zoos so the cause will have support. The second step is to stop the construction of any new zoos, stop breeding animals for zoos, and stop capturing animals from the wild to be put in zoos. Then, professionals will start training animals in captivity to be put into the wild (read about the training process here). The money previously used to fund zoos can be donated to organizations that protect animals in their natural habitat or wildlife conservation reserves. Animals deserve to live their lives freely and humans do not have the right to lock them up and sentence them to a sad and pathetic life.
