English Boardgames not allowed In Quebec, by Law? Let's help change this Law

As Caltabiano said some of these games are collectibles & don't come with French translations. If these people want a French version why don't they set about creating it instead of trying to put an honest person out of business with their foolishness. they might even get rich doing this for just one game.

This law needs to be exterminated. To deny shops to sell boardgames that does not have a french version sounds like a child whining just for the sake of whining and being annoying.

Our language rights are being challenged at all levels now. This will not keep or bring economic here. We are slowly losing our democratic rights to live and work in one of Canada's official languages. The french language is not being jeopradized so what is the threat all about? d

We need NOW in Quebec if we are to achieve economic growth. The type of discrimination has no benefit in our sociiety.

This is not the way to save your language and culture. It's by making sure you family, children, grandchildren keep it going by speaking it at home and reliving stories of the past. It certainly is not by disallowing everybody else's culture. That's how they keep theirs alive.

english is not an enemy. We should be allowed to have the same rights as french does. French language or culture is not going to be extinguished by having stores have some english in them. The french language police is rediculous.

The Quebec government's got to get its priorities straight. How much of our money goes to fund the OQLF? How about you take all that money and, instead of going after boardgame store owners for having English games, you go ahead and fix our roads. Or how about removing the snow and salting the roads. Or fund the hospitals. Schools. The list goes on. But no they've decided to pay a bunch of people ( who are definitely not getting paid minimum wage) to make sure "KerPlunk" is not being sold unless a French version is available first. Wake up!

Quebec's draconian enforcement on language matters is incredibly harmful to it's economic growth and stability. Localising any such product is a large and costly endeavor for any company, while fans will post translations online for free to help the game spread to all who wojld wish.to partake. Gaming is a multicultural hobby, tryong to make it fit your unbending mindset will only hurt your own people in the end.

The OQLF was the reason I left Montreal/Quebec a few years ago. They came down on me and, being a very small business owner (I am a plumber), I did not have the money or energy to deal with language issues. I moved to Ottawa & my business doubled, then I was given an opportunity to move to L.A. where my business has quadrupled. I love Montreal/Quebec but sadly it's not a place that encourages businesses to grow.

This is ridiculous. Quebec needs to embrace multiculturalism instead of having a language SS. Enough is enough.
