Just today, a friend of mine on DeviantART and Twitter (who went by the username of "Icanhascookie") told me on the former site that he will commit suicide. I tried to convince him not to, but either he didn't see the message or did but just decided not to respond to it, or even worse, I was too late... I haven't seen him online ever since and I am really worried. If he really did take his life, then I am extremely sad and will certainly miss him.

In regards to this, he told me that he's having problems on Wikia, namely, the SpongeBob SquarePants wiki, Encyclopedia SpongeBobia. I hardly go on that wikia or Fandom at all for that matter, but I have heard about it, and he did give his username there once, so I have visited his profile a few times, but not frequently, since the website doesn't interest me. However, recently he told me that his reason for suicide is a user on that wiki won't stop harassing him or stirring up trouble. He told me that said user goes by the username of "Spongebobvstheloudhouse" and told him to commit suicide in a message. Although he stated that no legitimate proof can be provided, this is certainly not acceptable and warrants an immediate shutdown of all social networks and websites with social accessibility in general to keep trolling and drama from ceaselessly occurring. He himself told me that he has made an online petition or two to shut down social networking and told me to spread the word as well, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I was told by my friend to take action in regards of this situation, but I unfortunately couldn't since I don't want to get involved in drama nor do I have a Wikia account. I definitely don't blame him for feeling this way, but telling someone to do anything involving physical self-harm or suicide is too far and should be frowned upon. Without a doubt, I am deeply going to miss my online best friend and have no respect whatsoever for the person who made him resort to such solutions. In conclusion, I that social networking/online communities/any website with social accessibility in general should be shut down for good to prevent trolling and harassment and in memory of/out of respect for my now-gone online best friend.
