We don't need to attack her for being in trouble and if you feel concerned about the safety of the animals - write the courts and petition the town's using the appropriate channels.
If we are discussing real problems (besides waiting for 43 warrants to come down) I would question the $250 adoption fee and lack of paper work to justify these costs. Almost Home should face an audit and might welcome such help to get back on track.
A non profit that charges $200 more than most kennels/shelters and rescues that have all the proper documentation is very very telling. Besides animal cruelty could there be additional issues with paper work?
The only reason I'm asking is because it cost Money for a lawyer to do all that running around and this was not a winnable case, 43 counts of animal abuse and they have the guts to ask for a background check on adoption applicants?
Would you hire a babysitter who got accused of 43 counts of child abuse?

What person in their right mind would agree with Almost Home, this petition or anyone supporting them? My wife was an eye witness. She left the shelter in tears it was so horrible. The evidence speaks for itself. If you have not read the official court documents for this case, I encourage you to do so before signing this ludicrous petition. There are criminal charges pending against this organization. What kind of shelter has a sign stating, no cameras beyond this point. Pretty obvious. Please people, get the facts.

i think anyone that opens a pet shelter an doesnt care for the pets as they need should be held accountable per the laws of ct, if you cant do the work,stay off the job,too many people start businesses to try an make a fast buck,

What amazes me is Almost Home cannot admit to any mistakes or wrongdoing. So the shelter was perfect in every single aspect? Please! Your behavior just makes it worse and does not make you credible in the least. Tell us the motivation in a coherent and rationale way and tone that the town would have for shutting you down. That's all I want to know.

Lori and Meda are awesome people. The vile volunteers worked there but did not report any abuse, after they get fired, they start complaining. Just sad to see our legal system such!

People from Almost home should be the ones in Jail for how they abuse animals. They get all the animals taken away and are looking to just open up in a different town so they can continue the abuse.
