According to The Human Society, despite having virtual alternatives, over six million animals are used in dissection per year. Even so, legal rights for students to choose alternatives only exist California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
